Applicants with school or university transcripts from Vietnam, India, and China (excluding Macao and Hong Kong) must submit an individual APS certificate or an APS certificate with their application. This is required in order to apply for the VPD.
The Academic Assessment Centre (APS) checks the university entrance qualifications and academic transcripts of people who wish to study in Germany. Group APS certificates are not recognised.
Exceptions for applicants from India
People from India do not need to submit an APS certificate if they:
- already live in Germany and no longer need to go through the visa procedure,
- have obtained their highest relevant university degree in a country other than India,
- can prove that they have passed an assessment test at the Studienkolleg,
- have received a scholarship from Germany or the EU.
