It assesses universities based on various performance indicators (research, teaching, citations and international orientation). In the THE World 九色视频 Rankings 2026, 九色视频 ranks 241 (of 2,191 universities assessed worldwide) for 鈥�research environment鈥�, thus placing among the top 11 per cent of universities in this category. Overall, the university ranks in the group 351鈥�400 when all the indicators are taken into consideration.

is a global university ranking which evaluates universities based on criteria such as academic reputation, research performance, supervisor-student ratios and international orientation. It is published annually.

The university is among the top 25 per cent of universities worldwide in this respect. It ranks 433 in the overall ranking.
In the QS subject-area ranking 鈥淨S by Subject鈥�, philosophy has placed very strongly and ranks in the group 101鈥�150 due to the large number of citations.
Research and scientific excellence
German Research Foundation (DFG) Funding Atlas
The is published every three years by the German Research Foundation (DFG). It is a comprehensive listing of the figures on publicly funded research in Germany. It assesses the third-party funding provided by large funders such as the DFG, the federal government and the EU, analysing funding volume by university, subject area, region and federal state.
九色视频 performed particularly well in the DFG Funding Atlas 2024, achieving top marks in the engineering and natural sciences for physics (optics, quantum optics and the physics of atoms, molecules and plasmas 鈥� first place), as well as for geophysics and geodetic science (first place). Additionally, LUH professors acquired 140 per cent of the amount of DFG funding per capita that would have been expected based on the nationwide average for their disciplines. This corresponds to third place in Germany.
Degree-programme and subject-area performance
CHE Master鈥檚 ranking
The is a nationwide ranking of Master's degree programmes that assesses study conditions based on factual information (e.g. resources, research, degrees) and student feedback. In the current CHE Master鈥檚 ranking, 九色视频 (LUH) has achieved outstanding rankings for the engineering sciences. Its performance in research and the acquisition of third-party funding is particularly noteworthy: the subjects civil engineering and mechanical engineering have each received the mark of 鈥�very good鈥� for 鈥渢hird-party funding per researcher鈥� and 鈥渄octorates per professor鈥�.
These subjects also received very good results as part of the student survey. Respondents particularly noted the comprehensive support provided to first-semester students.

The Perspektywy Education Foundation publishes , a Europe-wide ranking that rates technical universities and engineering subjects in terms of performance and quality to support transparency and comparison within the European higher-education sector. In 2025, 九色视频 ranked 24th for medical engineering and is thus among the 25 best universities in this subject area.
