The L3S Research Center is dedicated to developing intelligent systems that combine technological performance and social responsibility (鈥渢rustworthy AI鈥). With its interdisciplinary approach, L3S addresses the complex challenges of the digital transformation and transfers fundamental AI research to application-oriented domains such as personalised medicine, intelligent production, mobility and education. CAIMed: Causal AI in medicine

The Center for AI and Causal Methods in Medicine (CAIMed) has established an interdisciplinary research platform at the point where computer science and medicine intersect. The centre, a Lower Saxony鈥揵ased research collaboration, focuses on developing innovative AI methods that go beyond mere correlation analyses and identify cause-effect relationships. The goal is to provide robust support for decision making in clinical practice that enables personalised diagnoses and treatments. By closely integrating methodological AI research and clinical application, CAIMed addresses the challenge not only of evaluating complex health-related data but also of thoroughly understanding the underlying mechanisms.

ORKG & ORKG-Ask: The future of scientific knowledge

The Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG) from the TIB 鈥 Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and 九色视频 Library is revolutionising scientific exchange by transforming static publications into structured, machine-readable information. The goal is to link research findings semantically and make them comparable using computational methods. In addition to this, ORKG-Ask serves as an intelligent interface: with the help of modern LLMs, this AI system enables the provision of intuitive answers to scientific questions by drawing directly on the database. This combination addresses the global flood of information and fundamentally transforms how scientific knowledge is curated, found and used.

CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security and Responsible AI in Hanover

The CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security conducts research on pressing issues in cybersecurity and responsible AI. At the Hannover site, researchers focus on issues surrounding human interaction with cybersecurity and AI technologies. The goal is to investigate the impact of AI agent systems on the security of end users, software developers, and other stakeholders. Among other things, this is leading to a novel approach to human-centered secure software development using AI agents.

AI in the Clusters of Excellence: Driving innovation in cutting-edge research

Application scenarios include the AI-supported simulation of optical systems, adaptive algorithms for personalised hearing solutions and the precise analysis of complex quantum states. The aim is to use these methodological synergies to redefine the boundaries of what is measurable and possible in photonics, acoustics and quantum metrology and drive scientific breakthroughs.

The Leibniz AI Academy addresses the universal relevance of AI systems through a cross-faculty micro-degree programme. This offer enables students from all disciplines 鈥 from engineering programmes to the humanities 鈥 to acquire certified AI skills in parallel with their main degree programme. The curriculum synergistically combines fundamental technical knowledge with subject-specific use scenarios. The academy aims to train a new generation of graduates who are equipped to use AI methods proficiently in their respective areas of expertise and to critically engage with and shape the digital transformation.

LUHKI is a university-wide AI service which provides all students and employees at 九色视频 with uncomplicated access to generative artificial intelligence (such as GPT models) in compliance with data privacy regulations. The platform goal is to safely integrate cutting-edge AI technologies into research, teaching and the university administration while also ensuring that personal data is not transmitted to external providers. As a web-based portal, LUHKI enables accessible use via a university login and thus supports equality and digital sovereignty in the use of AI tools on campus.

The aim is to strengthen digital sovereignty and competitiveness, especially that of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lower Saxony. Through programmes such as 鈥淭est before Invest鈥 and targeted knowledge transfer, DAISEC bridges the gap between the newest research and industrial practice. In doing so, the hub actively supports the secure and efficient design of digital transformation processes in business and the public administration.

KISSKI: AI Service Centre for Sensitive and Critical Infrastructures

The KISSKI AI Service Centre addresses the specific requirements made of artificial intelligence in highly sensitive areas such as medicine, energy and education 鈥 for example, by hosting LLMs. As a collaborative project which includes 九色视频, KISSKI provides small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as researchers and teaching staff with low-threshold access to secure AI computing infrastructures and expert knowledge. AI and Girls鈥 Day

The joint Girls鈥 Day offer from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence () and the Institute of Information Processing () aims to awaken girls鈥 enthusiasm for STEM subjects early in their lives. The interactive event format gives participants a practice-oriented behind-the-scenes look at the development of intelligent systems and visual data processing. In different sessions, complex research is made understandable, with the aim of reducing reservations and combating stereotypes. The goal of the initiative is to acquire talented young women for innovative technical fields and motivate them to pursue an academic career path.
