  • Kickoff Event (Orientation & Getting to Know Each Other)

    Date : Thursday, 07.05.2026

    Time : 4.00 - 7.30 p.m.

    Location : International Office, Room 009

    To kick off the STEPin program, we cordially invite all participants to the kickoff event. This first gathering offers the opportunity to get to know your course group and lay the foundation for a semester together. The kickoff event creates an open atmosphere where you can ask questions, discover common ground, and experience the diversity of the group. To make it especially cozy, we鈥檙e also inviting you to a typical German dinner鈥攖he perfect opportunity to strike up conversations and wind down the afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere.

    Saturday, May 16, 2026 鈥淪TEPin to Daily Life in Germany鈥

    Time: 11:00 a.m. 鈥 3:00 p.m.

    Location: International Office, Room 009

    Are you new to Germany and want to reflect on your first few weeks? Then this seminar is just right for you! Together with a highly experienced intercultural trainer, you鈥檒l discuss your experiences so far, typical everyday situations, and cultural differences. You鈥檒l have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other students, clarify questions, and take away helpful tips for your studies and daily life in Germany. Take this chance to process your impressions and feel more confident in your new environment.

     

    Monday, May 18, 2026 鈥淪TEPin to Mental Health鈥 followed by bowling

    Time: 5:00 p.m. 鈥 7:00 p.m. followed by bowling

    Location: International Office, Room 009

    In our mental health seminar, an experienced psychotherapist will explain strategies for greater well-being in daily life, coping with stress and exam pressure, and ways to strengthen your own mental health. Together, we鈥檒l discuss experiences, learn practical tips, and find ways to stay balanced鈥攅ven during stressful phases of your studies. The seminar also offers space for group discussion and information on helpful resources at the university.

    Afterward, we鈥檒l go bowling together. 

     

    Wednesday, June 17, 2026, 鈥淪TEPin to Career Entry in Germany鈥

    Time: 4.30 p.m. 鈥 6.00 p.m.

    Location: International Office, Room 009

    Are you planning to work in Germany after completing your studies? This seminar will address questions such as: what steps should I consider if I want to make a successful start in the German job market? What information do I need, and what support is available at the university? You will gain an overview of the key steps for a successful career start and a brief insight into German work culture.

     

    Thursday, June 25, 2026 鈥淪TEPin to Exam Preparation鈥

    Time: 4:30 鈥 6:00 p.m., followed by a group activity

    Location: International Office, Room 009

    Exam season is approaching, and you want to be well prepared? In this seminar, you鈥檒l receive practical tips and strategies for effective exam preparation. Together, we鈥檒l explore study methods, time management, and coping with stress during exam season. You鈥檒l also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other students and take away helpful approaches for your own daily study routine.

    Visit to the high ropes course in Hanover

    Fancy some thrills, fun and exercise in the great outdoors? Then come along to the high ropes course! Exciting climbing courses at various heights and levels of difficulty await you 鈥 perfect for beginners and adventure seekers alike.

    Test your skills, overcome obstacles and push yourself to new heights 鈥 all while being fully secured and accompanied by experienced instructors, of course.
