Application for Admission to the Master鈥檚 Thesis
Procedure
You can apply for admission to the Master's thesis once you have earned and recorded 60 ECTS credits in the modules. The thesis should be 80 pages long. The processing time is five months. Further details can be found in Sections 7 and 8 of the examination regulations.
If your thesis is interdisciplinary or if an external review is required for other reasons, you must obtain written approval from the relevant examination board BEFORE applying for admission. This approval must be included with your application for admission to the thesis.

1. Application for Thesis Admission
You can apply for admission to your thesis informally by email to the Examinations Office of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Please attach a scan of your photo ID and the names of your first and second examiners to Pruefungsamt@phil.uni-hannover.de

2. Assignment of the topic
After the Examinations Office has verified your eligibility, please submit the admission email to your first examiner for topic assignment. They will then send you the topic by email, copying the Examinations Office.
The thesis submission deadline is set by the Academic Examinations Office in accordance with the examination regulations and can be viewed via the online student service (under "Information about registered exams").

3. Declaration of originality
Please note, that when submitting the master鈥檚 thesis, it must be declared in writing that
a) the work was completed independently,
b) no sources or means other than those indicated were used,
c) all passages of the work that make reference to other sources, whether through direct quotation or paraphrasing, have been indicated accordingly, and
d) the paper has not previously been submitted to an examining authority in the same or a similar form.This declaration must be part of both bound copies of the thesis.

4. Number of copies and where to submit your thesis
The first and the second examiner should each receive a bound copy and an electronic version of the thesis. Confirmation of submission is issued by the person accepting the thesis using the form 鈥Best盲tigung 眉ber die Abgabe der Abschlussarbeit鈥. This form must be promptly submitted to the Examination Office.
