General Information
- Period: 5 to 28 August 2026
- Language: German
- Target group: Students and prospective students (max. 18 participants per course)
- Application deadline: 1 June 2026 (A minimum number of applications is required for each course at the various German language levels, and there is a maximum number of participants for each course!
- Course fees: €790 (face-to-face language course and supporting programme)
- Teaching hours: 25 hours per week, taking place on 18 days from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CET
- Accommodation in student halls of residence: €350 (rooms are available from 3 to 31 August 2026)
- Credits: ECTS credits can be awarded!

Intensive Course German Basic Level A2
Language level: completed A1 level, at least 200 hours of German; final placement after placement test
Target group: prospective students and anyone else with little knowledge of German
Course content: exercises in listening, reading, writing and speaking. Introduction to basic German vocabulary, grammar and syntax. Topics related to life, everyday routines and culture in Germany.

Intensive German Course Intermediate Level B1
Language level: completed A2 level, at least 400 hours of German; final placement after placement test
Target group: prospective students and anyone else with a good knowledge of German
Course content: exercises in listening, reading, writing and speaking. Exercises in German grammar and syntax at intermediate level, as well as vocabulary expansion. Topics on life, everyday life and culture in Germany.

Intensive German Course Intermediate Level B2
Language level: completed B1 level, at least 600 hours of German; final placement after placement test
Target group: prospective students and anyone else with a good knowledge of German
Course content: exercises in listening, reading, writing and speaking. Exercises in German grammar and syntax at intermediate level, as well as vocabulary expansion. Topics on life, everyday life and culture in Germany.

Accommodation
On request, we can arrange a single room in one of the student residences run by the student union (bathrooms and kitchens are usually shared). The cost is €350.
Catering
Accommodation does not include meals. However, it is possible to purchase lunch and dinner at student prices in the student union's canteens and cafeterias.
Public Transport
For currently €63 (as of 8 January 2026), you can purchase either a ‘Deutschland-Ticket’ or (with appropriate proof) a monthly ticket to use public transport in Hanover. The Deutschland-Ticket can be purchased online on both the ÜSTRA website and the DB website.
Payment
You will receive an invoice after registration. The total amount must be paid within 14 days of receiving the invoice. Once we have received the registration fee, we will send you a letter of invitation. Payment by credit card is not possible.
Please note that the following fees apply in the event of cancellation:
- Cancellations received 6 weeks before the start of the course: €100
- Cancellations received less than 6 weeks before the start of the course: 100% of the course fees
You are responsible for ensuring that you have adequate insurance cover during your stay.
