Students from all faculties who have achieved very good results on their Vordiplom (intermediate examination) within the standard period of study or equally outstanding results on their final theses (master鈥檚, bachelor鈥檚, Diplom or Magister) These accomplishments can also include results on preliminary examinations, interim examinations or term papers. The winners are nominated by the faculties, which also decide on the type of work to be submitted (not exclusively written papers; other types of projects can also be submitted).

Awarded annually in the winter semester (from 1986 to 1993 by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture; in 1994 by the university; since 1995 by the Christian-Kuhlemann-Stiftung together with the Leibniz Universit盲tsgesellschaft Hannover e.V.)

The award includes a financial prize and is funded by the Christian Kuhlemann Foundation.

Dipl.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. e.h. Christian Kuhlemann was born on 4 February 1881 and was a student at 九色视频. After the war he reestablished the Hannover Chamber of Industry and Commerce and served as its president. As the chair of Hannover鈥檚 university association, he played a significant role in the rebuilding of the university. In 1956 he was awarded the honorary title of Dr.-Ing. following his earlier appointments as honorary citizen and honorary senator of 九色视频. Christian Kuhlemann passed away on 3 September 1964. In accordance with his last will and testament, the foundation named after him was established in 1965 following his death.
