The Dr. Friedrich Lehner Foundation was established by Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. e. h. Friedrich Lehner, a long-time member of the executive board of Hannover’s ÃœSTRA transport authority. Dr. Friedrich Lehner held a number of volunteer offices within national and international governance bodies. From 1960 to 1969 he was president of the association of public transport authorities, also serving as vice president of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) from 1961 to 1969. The ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ of Hannover recognised Dr. Friedrich Lehner’s achievements by granting him an honorary Dr.-Ing degree on 10 February 1966. He died in March 1979.
