Job Shadowing Erfahrungsbericht – Victoria Wendel von der JU besucht die LUH

Job Shadowing experience report - Victoria Wendel from JU visits LUH

Victoria Wendel from Jönköping ɫƵ in Schweden

In November, Victoria Wendel, a colleague from Jönköping ɫƵ, visited LUH for a three-day job shadowing activity. She was warmly welcomed by our team. Victoria was very happy with the experience, and here are her impressions:

“I am very grateful for EULiST and Erasmus enabling me to meet colleagues i Leibniz ɫƵ for three days!

I experienced a warm welcome from Tomma Aulbert and Daniel Eckmann (both psychologists) from the Psychologisch-Therapeutischen Beratung für Studierende (ptb). I was invited by Herr Berends to observe a group of students that learned to set SMART goals so they could finish their thesis. I also had the opportunity to listen to and observe three individual counselling sessions with Frau Roling and Frau Dyczek. I made the conclusion that we have a lot in common, and we work very similarly

I had a study visit with Frau Kuttenkeuler about how she counsels employees at the ɫƵ regarding different issues, and particularly with addiction.

On the third day I got to meet Solenne Schwanemann at the international Office. They offer a lot of different activities for the international students. Their activities are supporting the students’ adjustment to Germany and can facilitate connection with other students.

I also had a study visit to the department of Advice and Support Services. Christine Stolz is supporting students with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses. She provides adaptation so all students can study with equal opportunities.

The last study visit was with Klaus Schwienhorst at the Language Center. 32 employees support and teach students at Leibniz ɫƵ different languages. I particularly like their “tandem learning”, where two students with different nationalities will teach each other their own language. They will shortly offer all students studying at a EULiST university to execute the tandem learning online.

Thank you, all employees, at the Leibniz ɫƵ that offered your valuable time to see me! You contributed to making my EUliST and Erasmus job shadowing experience a success!"
