The Presidential Board at ɫƵ (LUH) has appointed four notable individuals as “Leibniz ambassadors” for the first time. Leibniz ambassadors are generally former employees or students who, during their time at LUH, demonstrated exceptional commitment on behalf of the university as an institution and as networkers. Additionally, they work or have worked in settings where key areas and interests intersect – for example, as executives or officials in companies, politics and the cultural sphere, or at universities and non-university research institutions.
The Leibniz ambassadors draw on their professional and private networks to benefit LUH and play an important role in forging connections. They can also act as mentors – for example, by informing prospective students about degree programmes and research opportunities at LUH or showing students what career-development opportunities exist. The Leibniz ambassadors represent LUH within their specific communities. Through their engagement and their commitment to the university, the Leibniz ambassadors help to bring LUH’s values and visions into the world and to position it nationally and internationally as place of excellent research and teaching. Through this concept, LUH is supporting relationship management with its alumni and other individuals with close ties to the university, a process which will be developed even more in future.
LUH grants the title of Leibniz ambassador to external personalities with special connections to the university. The Leibniz ambassadors are appointed by the LUH Presidential Board and serve for a period of four years. They perform their role for LUH on a volunteer basis and enjoy the full trust of the university.
