The Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW) welcomes applications for the following position available from now on:  Student Assistant on the subject of "Construction CAM planning in medical engineering" (23 hours per month)

The position is limited to 3 months for project-related reasons. 

Your job at a glance 

At the SIIRI Collaborative Research Centre, we develop innovative solutions that enhance the safety and functionality of medical implants. We are looking for a student assistant to work in the field of manufacturing technology, specifically to support us with design tasks and CAM planning for knee implants. A particular focus is on the integration of radiopaque markers into the implant design.

The area of responsibility includes support with:

• Design and further development of parts and components for knee implants
• Creation and adaptation of CAD/CAM models for medical device manufacturing processes
• Planning and preparation of manufacturing processes
• Project-related organisational tasks and presentations
• Conducting experimental investigations

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated student assistant to join our team with immediate effect.

Your profile:

• You have a good command of German
• Interest in design, CAM planning, medical technology and production engineering is desirable
• You have excellent knowledge of Siemens NX or relevant training
• Independent and structured work is a matter of course to you

A prerequisite for employment is valid enrolment at a German university in a degree programme relevant to the position (mechanical engineering, chemistry, materials science or similar subjects).
